ARCHES cares about our families and we know that this COVID-19 crisis has been hard on all of us. Having to supervise your children’s learning at home has been a hardship for you and them. And many of you have had additional hardships due to needing to be present at work during this time in order to keep jobs and provide financially for your family.
We have been so excited to have your children back on campus with us to help solve all these issues. When the governor told us we would have to wait to open normally, we were heartbroken. As much for you as for us. So, we have come up with a plan to help.
Childcare centers have been allowed to stay open during the closures. So we have done some planning with the childcare center on our campus and arranged for students of ARCHES to receive free childcare here on campus until schools re-open officially. We are opening this option before school starts, on July 20th , to help families that were counting on other schools to be open earlier. Care during the first 2 weeks (July 20th – 31st ) will be provided by the Olive Tree Preschool staff while the ARCHES staff is in our pre-service training. Starting on the first day of school, Aug 3rd , ARCHES staff will take over the care and distance learning opportunities will be provided while students are on campus for childcare. All the childcare health and safety precautions will be in place including additional ones specifically adopted for this crisis, including frequent sanitation of all high-touch areas, frequent hand-washing, and staying in smaller groups.
For any families not ready to be present physically, distance learning from home is still an option and will continue to be an option throughout the school year.
